Pre‑Training for Journalists Covering the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender‑Based Violence (2025)
The Centre for Domestic Violence Prevention (CEDOVIP) will host a one‑day pre‑training session for journalists on 19 November 2025, aimed at strengthening ethical, survivor‑centred reporting on gender‑based violence (GBV) and technology‑facilitated GBV (TGBV) during the 16 Days of Activism (25 Nov – 10 Dec). The training will deepen participants’ understanding of Uganda’s legal framework, enhance digital‑safety skills, and foster a network of media professionals committed to responsible coverage that upholds survivor dignity and promotes accountability.
Participants will include reporters, editors, and communication officers from print, radio, television, and digital platforms, as well as media association representatives. By the end of the session, attendees will have a media resource pack, practical tools for safe online reporting, and an action plan for continued collaboration with GBV advocacy groups.
