Owing to the fact that the Anti pornography law infringes greatly on a number of human rights and constitutional freedoms including; the rights of women, freedom of expression, equality and freedom from discrimination among others, CEDOVIP in partnership with Women’s Organization Network for Human Rights Advocacy( WONETHA) and Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa (SIHA) formed d a loose coalition through Onyango and Co advocates to challenge the APL in the constitutional court.
The team filed a petition in the constitutional court on the 7th May 2014 followed by a joint press conference. A date for hearing is yet to be set by court.
